Student Visa

Non-EU citizens traveling to Belgium for a student exchange may be required to apply for a student visa (visa D long stay). Please check with your local embassy or consulate whether this applies to you.

Here you can find  all the documents required for the visa application. You will be able to download the ‘model of the standard form’ from your Mobility Online after completing the necessary steps there.

Make sure you start your visa application on time!
This procedure can take up to six weeks to complete and the embassy or consulate may have limited time slots for an appointment.

As part of your visa application, you will need to prove that you can afford to cover the costs of living during your exchange. This is called "sufficient means of subsistence."
