Research themes
We are strongly committed to developing and offering expertise regarding innovative communication, critical media use, and human-centered digital work.

Innovative communication
How to package and spread your message so it reaches the target group, sticks in their minds, and possibly sparks an action?
Research within this research theme aims to provide an answer to this. A message is interpreted broadly and can take the shape of an ad, a news item, or even other forms of information sharing. We pay attention to how the message is packaged (design, storytelling, contents, etc.), spread (which channels) and received by certain target groups (based on user research) We verify what role innovation, artificial intelligence and technology can play.

Critical media literacy
How can citizens be made aware, informed, and socialised with regard to the critical use of information in the media?
Research in this theme focuses on the critical use of different types of media, such as news reports and advertising. How is media made and personalised, what is the objective, and how can the use of technology (such as algorithms and AI) be adjusted accordingly? In addition, we pay attention to distinguishing news from other forms of (harmful) information, such as fake news, hate speech, propaganda, and conspiracy theories. We also aim to generate knowledge and understanding regarding information channels, platforms, and innovative technologies, focusing on the added value, challenges, and the limitations of technological innovation.

Human-centered digital work
As an entrepreneur or professional, how can you help build a smart, fast, and flexible digital organisation by designing and deploying human-centered technology or innovation so that they reinforce each other?
Research in this field focuses on the implementation of the digitalisation processes and innovative technologies. AI in the work context, with attention to the human capital available. Identifying thresholds, matching values, and resolving discrepancies, among other things, enables the human-centered use of digital technologies.
