All exchange students need to be properly insured while they are studying at or undertaking practice organised by Artevelde University of Applied Sciences.
Exchange students need to have a health insurance, covering urgent medical costs in Belgium. Medical costs may occur unexpectedly and can be very high in Belgium.
All exchange students also need and a civil liability insurance that will cover claims if to blame for an accident that injures someone or damages another person’s property.
Artevelde University of Applied Sciences insures its officially registered (exchange) students automatically for accidents occurring during educational activities at the premises of the campuses and on the way from and to educational activities.
If you are not able to check or arrange your own insurance or if you are not sure of the value of your insurance, Artevelde University of Applied Sciences can help you to find insurance for the duration of your stay in Gent as an exchange student.
